The Homeplace

There were several Arrington homeplaces, but this page concerns the family home located in Duhring, WV, of Henry "Wise" Arrington, Sr., and his ancestors (as do most of our pages). The Queen Anne - Victorian style house was built in the early 1900s and is no longer standing. For more info on the history of this house, see Arrington-Thomas family history.

We have added some fun special features regarding the old Homeplace that use Java applets. More recent versions of both Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers (version 3 and up) should have little problem if they are set to accept Java.

Lightening Rods There were lightening rods installed on the roof of the old Homeplace that can't be seen from the photos we have, but we've heard stories about them and the lightening.
