Lineman is Killed
In Fall From Pole

Pulaski, Nov. 12 (Special) -- James Samuel Thomas, 39, died Monday night at the Pulaski hospital from injuries suffered Sunday in a fall from a 45 foot transmission line tower of the Appalachian Electric Power Company, near Allisonia, while working with the "hot line" force out of Bluefield. He sustained internal injuries, a fracture of the pelvis and two breaks in one leg.
It is not determined what caused the fall. His fellow workman only saw him hurtling through the air. He was a son of R. G. and Susan Woodyard Thomas, of Mechanicsburg, Bland county. The body was taken to Roanoke today.
